HIS BEST TWO YEARS

Behold, I send you out to reprove the world of all their unrighteous deeds, and to teach them of a judgment which is to come.....And whoso receiveth you, there I will be also, for I will go before your face. I will be on your right hand and on your left, and my Spirit shall be in your hearts, and mine angels round about you, to bear you up.

Hello Another Week--November 7th

Well how are you all doing. all in several email i got today everyone said bad things about the weather where they were. and now i guess its my turn.

Oh the past week here in tijauana. it rained three days. three days of cold, wet, clothes walking outside. but today it is nice and sunny again. but still not warm. so yes i have dusted off the sweaters and the jacket, and i am wearing them again. but about the rain, here, its not as orgainised here in mexico so the streets flood, i don´t know why but sometimes the swear backs up and comes up in the streets. but. its all good. i took some pictures and i am having some hard time sending photos but i will send some more soon.

More big news about here in tijuana, with your one and only Elder Taylor Olsen. I was a nurse for one day. I gave a SHOT TO ANOTHER ELDER. my zone leader. but its wierd, i don´t know why but here you can by medice and then do the shots in your house. and its cheaper. so my zone leader got sick and he needs a shot every night for 5 days. Well i went with him for divsions one day and in the night he told me i had to do it. He taught me how to do it. then layed down on his bed, and i gave him his shot in THE BUTT. HOLY CRAP its nothing that i have ever expeinced before. but i was alright. I didn´t faint or anything. And i have it on video, so in another year and 4 months I can show it to you all.

Another thing about here , we had a baptism of a mother and her 8 year old son. they are really cool and were a reference from our other baptisms. so it went really well.

I am going to take some of my money out for a couple things i need to buy. Plus 4 people that i have baptized here in this ward, are going to the temple this week, so i sent them some money to help them. just to let you know i will take more out soon.

all is well here, starting to get cold, glad to hear about timpview volleyball. and always glad to hear the stories from home,
but remember that everyone loves a missionary,

Heelllo--Oct 31st

So i don´t have a lot of time but i wanted to say that elder johnsons visit came was a good vistit. with us missionarys he talked with us about our purpose and how to find more people to teach which was good. Then he talked with the other members about leadership, the purpose of ward council, and a couple other things. Then he talked about the temple. Nothing about the ground breaking. only that to have a temple costs sacrafice. and that we all good do more to help the temple be built sooner. It was good.

Spoiler: I did receive confirmation that a apostal is going to come this month. and i know who is it. But i am not supposed to know so i cant tell yet. we aren´t suppposed to know because this apoastaly was assalted on one of his past trips. So its for his safty. i know who it is and he is coming. i just don´t know when. but it will all be good.

I have really been studying lehi's dream lately. It's really good and has a lot of stuff we can learn all of us. so that is your homework to read lehi's dream. in the first chapter of nefi. hope you enjoy the photos and everything is all good.

but remember, that everyone loves a missionary,

elder olsen,

Hello, Transfers....Oct 24th

Well i am once again writing late, because we did have changes here in the mission. and i just sent my comp. to the mission office, which i didn´t like the first time i did it, and i liked it less this time. It's really hard to send them off because it´s really easy to lose your focus. because they are only thinking in one thing. BUT its good that he gets to go to his home now, and that i go back to work.

but i have another companion. Elder lleguno. i knew him from a little while ago. (about 3 months ago he was in my district) and now he is here in lago with me. he has 15 months in the mission and just became the district leader. So all good here.

Quick question. did you hear anything about the ground breaking here? because i still having had any official news yet from here. just a question.

Elder Johnson from the seventy is here in Tijuana. haven´t met him yet but he was been to my church a couple of times. its because my church in the stake center. BUT we are going to meet him wed. and he wants to talk to us. so it will be good.

Well i am learning here with all this talk of the temple the importance of a temple. I thought before that i temple was built out of stone, wood and normal items. BUT now i am coming to learn what temples are really built out of. Of course stone and all that but, they are also built out of sacrifice, hard work, diligence, scripture study, praying with real intente. and so much more. but with all these items together it makes the temples that much more special. so that is why i think Elder Johnson is coming to teach us.

But all is good here in Tijuana. and i got 2 letters today, when i went to the offices. one from 6 weeks ago, and the other a halloween card. which turned out to be pretty good timing. but all is good. now its back to work. and remember,

that everyone loves a missionary,

éldér ólséñ,
until next week

Welll Heelllo--Oct 17th

Hello again.

Another monday has come around. and many things have happened but i will only have time to do the highlights because my comp. elder llanas goes home one week from today. so he has some stuff planned that he has to do before he goes home. so the next week i will have a new companion. But all is good in sion.

Well one story that really was interesting this week and was something i had never happen to me.

so last wed. we were out working when someone from the offices called us to give us a reference of someone that was interested. so we called them and had an appointment for that night at 7´:30. so we went. it took us a little bit to find it we did after a little bit of effort.and from the out side it looked like a normal house with a lot of junk in the front yard. By this time it was dark so we didn´t see much of its details. But when we entered the house, there wasn´t a back wall. and the first thing they told us is that, the mom, lived in this house with her husband, three kids, and one of the kids is married with three kids. añd all live in this house. Well the mom got invited to a church in another part of tijuana, so she went monday with a friend and she really liked it. but while she was there her family called her to say that her house was on fire. That's when she took us to the what was the wall of her kitchen, to show us what was her house. it was something really i had never seen before. we really didnt know what to say. oh man! but we told a couple of people in the ward, and they helped us out, they gave us clothes, food, shoes, plates, pans, because they lost a lot of stuff. so it was good and definitly something i won´t forget in my life.

One week left until i get a new companion, and we shall see what happens because i really have no idea what is going to happen. Because in december, 30 missionarys are leaving for their houses, and not very many are coming. so they are going to start preparing for december, but we shall see and that all is good here. until next week,

Remember that everyone loves a missionary,

elder olsen

Semana Otra....Oct 10th

Well another week has past, and another one down. I do have some news. the leaders of the mission are getting pretty excited because this month we are going to have a visit from a seventy come and talk to us/ train us. should be good. then are are rumors that someone from the quorom of the 12 apostals are going to come in November. really nothing set yet about nov. but then there are rumors that the 12 is coming to do the ground breaking of the temple, but they are all just rumors. and i just love to talk about gossip. but all i know is that Elder Johnson is coming to vist us.

More news. i got my package this past week, that had my camera. thanks so much! it is really great. its just so small compared to the old one i fell like i am going to break it every time i hold it. but its really nice and is cool. and the picture of Kelly's bear is so dang sweet.

We had a baptism last week also. named alvaro. he has 18 years, and he is the newphew of the 1st counselor in the bishopric. he's cool. says he wants to go a mission, and we are going to work with him on that, so maybe he can go in one year.

Saturday, we also did a big service project. we helped paint a fence of a college. it was a pretty big event and i am going to try and send a short movie. but the last time i tried to send a movie it didn´t work, so we shall see.

hope all is well were ever you are reading this, because the church is true. when we follow the commandments god blesses us. I have seen the gospel change lives. i know everyone in the world should read the book of mormon. I know that this time i am reading it i am learning a ton. but until next time remember,

that everyone loves a missionary,
elder olsen

3 de octubre

Well another week has passed by. and it was an interesting week for sure.

Yes i did hear about the temple in provo, and i was pretty animated about it when i heard it. but yes we had general conference and it was a little crazyer than normal. it was nice that my chapel is the stake center, so it wasn´t to hard to get our investigators there, but the change of the time schedule, and explaining the differences between conference and normal church. and to members that don't have much time in the church we had to explain the conference. but saturday i watched it in spanish, and sunday I got to watch it in english in a little room with other missionarys. But it was good, i really liked it. They talked quite a bit about the missionary work which was of course my favorite, because everyone loves the missionarys.

Here in tijuana are really good. It is starting to cool off to now i am a point to putting on my sweater in the next couple of weeks. but all its all good. we are at the last three weeks of the mission with elder llanas, and he is pretty ready to go to his house. but the work goes on.

So i am feeling a little bit better about my spanish but i dont feel very good about writing in spanish so i will finish this letter in spanish to practice a little bit.

elder olsen

gracias por todo, también.

Hello This Week-Sep. 26th

Well this past week was a good week.
First of all, we had a great baptism service saturday. I wasn´t going to send pictures today but what the heck why not. One is of the people we baptized Saturday-three of them are our ward and the other 5 are from the other ward. pretty cool. and the other is of us with our family, pretty cool family.

Another really cool thing that happened this past saturday is the area seventy came and talked a little to us, motivated us, then trained us. really cool guy. Elder Mario Carlos. really cool guy and talked to us about what we need to do as an area to prepare to have a temple here in tijauana.(still no news when they are going to start it), But I have seen the land where its going to be. its pretty close to where i am now, like 10 mins in car.
then we just keep working here in tijuana. but that's what has been cool here in the last week.

Now for a couple other pictures, a couple really cool if I say for myself. We have a river in our sector and the picture of me in the air is there, then last night we hiked a small hill to take a picture of us above our sector, thats the night pictures,

But just to let you know to keep up the good work, where ever you are reading this letter, and know that Jesus Christ is our savior, and that he is the only begotten son of our hevenly father. love you all,
and remember that everyone loves a missionary,
Elder Olsen

Hello Again-Sep 19th

Well then this past week has been interesting back in Tijuana. First things first is that i wasn´t very suprised to come back to tijuana, becuase half of the missionarys in the mission are here in tijuana. There's a lot. but this sector is so much better then my last ward in tijuana. and another plus, is that it is alot smaller than tecate, really alot smaller. It's not to bad here in my new ward, Lago.
I don´t know if i told you this last week, but I am with Elder llanas. and it's his last transfer in the mission. again, but it should be alright. It's definitely harder to have a companion that is about to go home, because lets just say that they aren´t thinking about our work here in tijuana, as much as other missionarys. but it will all be alright because this week we are going to baptize a family of three. they are really cool family.
The dad is a member of many years, inactive. but he went to USA and found the church there again. Well his family was here in tijuana. and he just got back from USA two weeks ago. and now he wants us to baptize his family. They really are cool.

Sorry to hear about BYU but sometimes that's the way it goes.

I did get the package from maryann the last week, thank you family M&M. but yea really fast this past week in mexico was Independence day. September 15&16. i didn´t see really anything crazy but we had a stake party in the stake center, and we went to our houses early in the night to avoid any problems. but i did wake up in the night to some pretty crazy parties in the night. but i couldn´t go.

Well i would just like to say, that i know that the church of jesus christ of latter day saints, is the church of christ in the world. that i know we have a living profet in Pres. monson, and that Christ lives. That we have a living god and not a dead god.
Thanks for everything, and remember,
that everyone loves a missionary,
Elder Olsen, from Tijuana Mexico

Hello.....September 12th

Well first things first-I got transferred! I am no longer in tecate, but am back in tijuana! and i have a lot of news but little time. so i will tell as much as i can. I don´t know anything about my new sector but it should be good. In the last week in tecate they gave us bikes to use, so that was nice to have for the week.

Then we still didn't have a bishop at all this past week, but i don´t want to talk about this until i get back, but yesterday i found out some information. i will tell more info when i am home.

I am now with elder Llanas, and it is his last 6 weeks in the mission! so the next six weeks will be good. Here are more pictures. and don't worry evil can be found in all over the world-for this see photo of the U shirt and the Lakers shirt next to each other.

Really i am excited to be in my new sector here in Tijuana and it should be really good.

I invite all who read this to read the book of Mormon, to start to read it, and study it.
and remember,
that everyone loves a missionary,
elder olsen

September 5th....Well

Well another week, very interesting week. Here are the pictures and a movie, hope the movie works but its of Tijuana. well most of Tijuana, there is still some other parts on the other side of the mountain that i didn't see or didn't go to.

The work here has been hard lately, and we still don't have an bishop. One lady stood up in sacrament meeting yesterday and started to rant that we are the worst ward because we don't have an bishop and that we are at the gates of hell. and that her husband had received revelation. and lots of things. Wow! I was up on the stand and got to see all the peoples faces.

Not much time to write more , but the pictures are on top of the mountain with the pres. It was good. but remember,
that everyone loves a missionary,
Elder Olsen

August 29th....I'm late

Well let me first explain why I am so late in writing today. We went to Tijuana at 9 in the morning, and meet up with our zone there, and didn't get back until just now. Then the President showed up and his assistants there in Tijuana. All together we hiked a really big hill there in Tijuana. I don't have time to send some of the pics today but maybe next week.

This past week was interesting. A little bit harder then past weeks but its over now and onto next week. I have a lot of knocking on doors this week to do, and not really looking forward to that.
But i don't really need anything other then the camera. My camera i have still works, but its going downhill. I think i could last till Christmas without a new one. But i hope i didn't scare you to bad Sunday when they called you. It wasn't my intention.

sorry for the short letter but i got to go now,
but always remember,
that everyone loves a missionary,
Elder Olsen

Hello-August 22nd

Well first random fact from here in my ward Tecate, if it wasn't for us missionaries we would be declining members in the ward, because we had another member die yesterday morning. So we have another funeral service tonight. Yipeee!

But, this past week I had another conference in Tijuana with Pres. Carreón. It was good. He has changed many things here in the mission since he got here. Thanks for the package which i received there. But, thanks to weird baptismal interviews I stayed in Tijuana Thursday, friday, and came back Saturday in the morning. I was with the zone leader in his sector there in Tijuana. In his sector is going to be the temple! Another interesting fact.

But the work keeps rolling here in Tecate. As of today we no longer have a bishop in our ward. He was relesed yesterday, and they didn't call anyone new. So, it will be something new that I haven't seen before. I gave a talk in sacrament meeting yesterday, and it made me feel alittle bit better of my spanish because I talked for just under 10 mins, and it went much better than my last talk.

Here in tecate we are starting to work with the in-active members more. We should have a baptism this week of a child that is not baptized, and we are working with the family. but things are good here., and remember,

That everyone loves a missionary,

Elder Olsen

P.S. Yes it's hot here, but I am surving, just fine. I will tell you that I actually bought sunscreen. But 90 percent of the days I forget to put it on, but hey I have some.

Another One Bites The Dust-Aug. 15th

Well another interesting week. First of all I spent friday with the zone leader in his sector in Tijauna. I learned some things from him and it was nice. But I now know where the temple is going to be built because it is in his sector. The church has the land but now they are trying to buy the land next to it also.

Also this week we had another funeral here in our ward. The last one was a funeral expected. this one was not. He came to church sunday and was perfect, Thursday he felt pain in his chest, Friday morning passed away of a heart attack. Saturday was the funeral. What is special about him is that our last baptism, was his great grandson. And he got to baptize him. Little less than a month later he pasted away. SO this is the picture of him with his family at the baptism. Good man, good family.

So thats the big news of the week. We have a lot of work to do now that we have the whole city to ourselves. But we keep going along.

About the camera. I have decided that it would be best if you bought it and sent it to me. Don't worry about it attracting to much attenceion to be because my stature, white shirt, and lack of spanish already draws enough attencion. But one that is nice. Thanks and until next time, remember,

That everyone loves a missionary,

Elder Olsen

Well my calender that I have said that Kez turned two, so I decided I would do my best to celebrate it...took some fotos

Hola-August 8th

Well another week has gone by. This one was a little different with us trying to find investigators in our new part of the sector/ find members to help us-that sort of thing. which lead us to being lost a couple of times (see photo with sign, and have Jake translate) but it was good. We didn't have a baptism this past week but we are going to do all posible to have one this week.

So also this past week has been the start of the hottest month here in Mexico. So, it's been warming up nice and toasty this past week.(p.s. i don't think i told you but last week we got to go to EFY here in mexico. EFY just started here and it was a great sucess. In total there was 1150 kids there. About 300 nonmembers, and 3 of the 300 were investigators of ours.) Sorry just thought of that.

1. yea Pres. Carreón does belive in the piano, but there are many other people the play it.

2. I am doing just fine with clothes, but lets talk about clothes a little futher ahead in the game.

3. there is no officail talk about the temple yet. only that Elder Anderson will come to do the ground breaking. offical, offical, loctaion nobody knows but generaly yes. It is under a large hill that says, "Jesucristo es el senor" it could make for some pretty sweet photos. but the ground breaking, some say november, some say september. I don't know.

But until next time know that i love you. and remember,

that everyone loves a missionary,

Elder Olsen

New Sector-Aug 1st

So every 6 weeks we have transfers. that was today, hence my really late letter home. But yea I did get a new sector but not a new companion. That's right, there used to be 4 missionarys here in Tecate. now its just me and my companion. So it makes for a lot of work and a lot of ground to cover.

I did go to Tijuana today to send off the other missionarys. One which went to Mexicali (remember almost the hottest place in the world) But yes i did get letters for the first time in three months, and my package. Thanks for the letters and the package.:) But the work here in Tecate is harder than Tijuana I am coming to learn the longer I am here in Tecate, but we keep working.

More pictures. So the tradition in the mission once you have 6 months in the mission you burn a tie. So here i am burning it. Then the rest of the fotos, we hiked up a hill we have in our sector and i must say that i was a pretty good model for my fotos that i thought i would share them with everybody.

But oh how the time goes by so quickly i can't believe it. Thanks for your support, and i love you all,

Remember that everyone loves a missionary.
Elder Olsen.

P.S. Kez is so big i can't believe it. and Savion sure does look like a Savion

More Pics-July 25th

Well I thought I would send some more pictures of this past week. I didn't know about the missionary in Guatamala but, sort of crazy.

This past week has been a good one. I am sending a couple of pictures of a little ranch we went to here in TECATE. the other two missionarys baptized a girl that lived there so we went to visit them. It was sweet and definitely reminded me of working at grandpa's farm. But it was cool.
The new companion. Elder Padilla. My first companion that i am older than.(about 14 days) he has 1 year in the mission, and is our district leader.

Crazy lesson of the week came from last Monday:
We went to see a less active member in the church to give her a lesson. Her baby of 6 months, had died 3 days before and asked if we could come and visit her. Well we got there and taught her the plan of salvation. Wow the hardest lesson i have taught, but also one the most powerful. When it was my turn to talk about Jesus Christ and the atonement, the words flowed with out me even thinking about what I should say. The lady cried through the whole lesson which made it hard to teach, but we did it. At the end she asked us for a blessing. During the blessing she held her baby's ashes. WOW. then she cried the hardest of the night.

One can learn many things in the mission, and the mission also teaches many things.(THINK ABOUT IT) but i can say that yes i am learning many things in this difficult, hard, frustrating, happy, sad, painful, joyful, thing they call a mission.

Hope you all have a great week, and until next time remember,
Everybody loves a missionary,
ELDER olsen

New Companion-July 18th

Yes the past week has been a new experience in the mission. I said goodbye to my companion Elder Cedillo yesterday in Tijauna, and by now he is at his house in southern Mexico. It has definitely made me think and act a little bit different here in the mission seeing him and how he felt and the end of his mission. I first thought that it was bad but not it is good. and my new companion is Elder Padilla. We went and got him from Tijuana today.(yes this has been a week of traveling) but we are all back here in Tecate. My new companion has just under a year in the mission, and my first impression is good. but normally when we do go to Tijuana it is by bus. yesterday and today we got rides from the members here.

We had a baptism last saturday of the kid in the picture. His name is Alan.(but you have to say it with a spanish accent) in the last email i sent i told a little bit about a couple of investigators. Well in the picture of the three men is them. the one on the far left is in fact a member that was baptized a long time ago. but the other two are investigators. no we didn't have their baptism because one smoked and the other, is waiting to receive his answer from heavenly father. but they both have a new date for the 30 of this month.

The weather has been a little calmer this week, then the past couple of weeks, The interview with Pres. Carreon was good. we went friday to Tijuana to meet him. He is a good guy and really like him. He told me to say hello to the whole family for him.

Yes i have a microwave, yes i ate the food from past package, no i have not gotten any mail, but neither has the zone, so i am not the only one without mail for a while.
This week we are going to try and find new investigators.
Got to go but remember,
Everyone loves a missionary,
Elder Olsen

Hola-July 11th

Well i didn't get any mail when we went to Tijuana, but I do go there again this Friday to have a interview with the new president. He is really cool. he seems to be more personable then past president. He is here in Tijuana with his four children, 18, 15, 13, 10 ages. Pres. Carreon( i think that's how you spell it still not sure)

But here in Tecate my companion leaves next Sunday, so next time i write i will have another companion. But Tecate is good.

One time we talked past a house of immigration, (a house owned by the catholics to help people that have been deported) one a guy yelled at us to come. Now might seem weird, but it is nothing new to me to have someone yelling at us. but we went and he said that he had talked to missionarys like us about 2 years ago and that he would like to listen again. So, we went to the central park, to teach him, he brought a friend. They really liked our lesson. then couple days later he brought other friend. They went to church. We set a date for baptism for all 4 of them. They are really great. When we met them they didn't have anything. but they put their trust in the lord, read the scriptures, went to church, prayed. and now they all have jobs, they are renting a house. 2 will be baptized this Saturday, if they don't work. Just another testament that when we put our faith into action, and follow the teachings of Jesucristo, we will be blessed.

Don't think i will have to time write letters this week, preparing Elder Cedillo to go to his house but next week,
but remember
That everyone loves a missionary,
Elder OLsen

No Time-July 4th

First of all, I would complain about all the pictures my sisters took while I was at home. But since I got in the mission I have hardly seen any photos. I feel like the sending pictures are a one way road when it should be a two way road if you know what i mean.

But I don't have a ton of time like 3 mins but i wanted to send some pics. No time to explain.
I haven't meet the new president yet or talked to him, but i will Thursday when we go to Tijuana. But things are good here busy like normal. No they don't celebrate 4th of July here but I wish they did. I hope that we aren't hogging all the heat here in Mexico hope you have your fair share.

Not using sunscreen, but what can a mother do but try.

yea i am alright.
The scripture of the week in 3 nephi 1:11. The last scripture when Jehovah speaks. Read it. its really cool.
Remember everyone loves a missionary,
Elder Olsen
